MediaCom names Claudine Collins as Managing Director
In a blow to the newly active Chairman and Chief Executive of ITV, the Competition
Commission have this morning definitively ruled that the CRR remedy, (which allows buyers
of advertising airtime to renew their existing contracts with ITV, with investment adjusted to
reflect the change in ITV1’s audience share), will be maintained for the foreseeable future.
The only concession that the Commission has made to ITV’s extensive lobbying is an
amendment to include viewers delivered by the ITV1+1 and ITV1HD channels.
Claudine started her career over 20 years ago at Squires Robertson Gill, moving to CIA and then joining the Media Business in 1995 where she set up the press department in 1998 with Steve Goodman. When The Media Business merged with MediaCom, Claudine took the role of managing £250m worth of press spend and was promoted to the Board as Head of Press. In 2008, she was promoted to the managing partner board and made joint head of investment, latterly becoming Head of Investment overseeing £1billion of advertising revenue Claudine was voted by Campaign magazine as a high achiever in "30 under 30", and was voted last year as Campaigns number 1 media buyer. This year she appeared in The Apprentice and featured as the industry expert in BBC2's "You're fired!" programme. She was involved last year in the Princes' Trust mentoring scheme and has appeared in Marie Claire magazine and Start Your Business Magazine amongst others. She also in her spare time works for numerous charities including the Lords Taverners. Karen Blackett, CEO, MediaCom UK says of the appointment "I am delighted that Claudine has agreed to take the role of Managing Director for the MediaCom UK Group, I believe that her credentials for this position speak for themselves. In her capacity as Managing Director her formidable negotiating skills will certainly be put to good use as will the tenacity and charm that she has become renowned for throughout the industry". |
