T-Mobile Royal Wedding video hits 20m views on YouTube
The video which was created by Saatchi & Saatchi and seeded online by MediaCom took approximately 7 days to reach the first 10 million views, and a further approximate 13 days to reach the second 10 million views.
Tweets linking to the video peaked on the day of launch, with the exception of the day of the real Royal Wedding. The day of the wedding saw a huge increase in tweets linking to the video, partly because of overall interest, but also because Justin Bieber tweeted and many of his fans re-tweeted him.
According to this list on YouTube of most viewed videos, the T-Mobile Royal Wedding is the second highest-placed video from a brand (excluding music videos and news clip) second only to the T-Mobile Dance from Liverpool Street.
The video was also shown in almost its entirety on ‘Have I Got News for You’ complete with mention of the brand, thereby achieving the TV holy grail of getting an advert onto the BBC.
