Alton Towers to participate in Facebook dealsAlton Towers Resort today announced that it will be one of the first companies to participate in Facebook Deals, the new service that utilises Facebook Places and offers people special discounts when they check-in at participating locations on their Smartphones. Facebook Deals launched today in the UK with a select number of companies adopting the scheme for its unveiling, and Alton Towers Resort will be one of these first few UK companies to offer a Deal on the service. The deal was coordinated by MediaCom Beyond Advertising (MBA) content planner Alexandra Gough, as part of MBA’s work with Alton Towers Resort to further develop its social media offering in the coming year. To kick-off its participation with the scheme, Alton Towers Resort will be offering free entry to the park to all users who check-in with Facebook Deals at the Resort on Friday 18th February; there will also be 100 free rooms at the Resort’s two themed hotels available for the first 100 people who check in. Facebook Deals was first launched in the US in November, and saw companies such as Gap, H&M and Starbucks partake in the initiative, offering a range of Deals from discounts, giveaways and charity donations.
